No doubt you have spent years not only dreaming of the perfect day, but also weeks, months and years planning it.<br />
<br />
Any project that takes that much precendence in your life will also have an emotional investment attached to it. Many a day (and night) scouring Pinterest, countless hours pining over bridal magazines, filtering through hair and makeup looks, and not to mention the weeks leading upto the big day relentlessly checking the weather forecast. <br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
If like me and countless others, you find it difficult to place your trust in numerous other people, it can be easy to single handedly try and arrange every fine detail for your big day.<br />
Booking the right photographer, finding the perfect florist, ensuring your chosen wedding venue can cater to <i>and</i> create the vision you have assigned to them.<br />
If you begin to feel slightly; frazzled, you are not alone. You are just one, in many brides to be. <br />
<br />
Any personal goal or project you undergo in life that demands your time, finances, hopes, dreams, sweat ( and more than likely ) and tears, will be an investment you want to ensure produces the perfect end result.<br />
So it's no suprise that so many brides to be find themselves completely overwhelmed the final few weeks and days leading up to the highly anticipated day.<br />
<br />
Once you have decided upon the wedding professionals you will be booking for your big day, you are in turn, placing in them a responsibility to help make your day, all you have ever dreamt of and hoped for. A part of your vision, is now in their hands.<br />
<br />

<br />
Any experienced, wedding professional, will have worked on hundreds, possibly <i>thousands </i>of weddings. They will understand the workings of a wedding morning. They will understand the timings and how everything fits into place. Every wedding morning is unique, but all will have the same checklist that every professional will want to ensure, gets a big tick.<br />
Countless hours will be spent in correspondance with you, to help bring your Wedding vision, alive.<br />
So like you, we want to ensure your day is the best it can be. <br />
<br />
Taking advice from your chosen wedding professionals will not only help ease the pressure, but will also help ensure that they can do their job to the best of their ability and in turn provide the best possible wedding service, for you.<br />
<br />
Taking on board just a few pieces of advice, even the smallest detail, can make all the difference to your wedding morning. <br />
<br />
<i>Timings</i><br />
It's always a good idea to ask each of your professionals for an estimate of timings for the day.<br />
Not just arrival time, but any specifics they may need to allocate for. It's very easy to just try and work timings out for yourself, but your professionals will have specifics they need to stick to, to ensure they can provide the service you have booked them for. <br />
You also need to account for that on the morning of your wedding you will have many professionals working together, all needing to work on their specific role, but also work in sync and harmony with each other.<br />
<br />
For many Hair/MUAS they need around 50-60 mins pp for hair and then makeup. So if you are booking your entire bridal party in for a pamper be realistic about timings, and expect an early start. There is no magic formula to getting everyone ready. Times need to be carefully planned and each professional will know the time they need to allocate. <br />
The aim of all all Hair/MUAS is to ensure you are all perfectly, beautified, without it being a rushed service. We also have to ensure there is time left over for any possible delays but also time for you to get into dresses and then photos.<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<i>Venues - What time can the bridal party arrive to get ready?</i><br />
Unfortunately there are <b>still</b> venues that do not allow entry for the Bride and Bridal party until late morning. Many will allow earlier arrival of 7am onwards, but there are still some that will not allow you to arrive until 10.30 or later. This may not sound like a problem, but if you have a Midday or 1 pm wedding and want hair and makeup done for even 1 person this will cause issues. If you have your heart set on getting ready at your venue it may be a good idea to ask them when you are permitted to arrive. Alot of brides only find out after they have booked, which again can cause alot of upset. <br />
Always find out this information as soon as possible, and then inform your booked professionals before proceeding with any plans.<br />
Many of my brides in 2017 chose to get ready entirely at home, or they booked a hotel the night before.<br />
I have seen first hand the chaos having to move an entire bridal party, mid morning. It rarely goes to plan and leaves everyone involved very stressed.<br />
Always check with your hair/mua too, as I know from experience many will only offer to get a bridal party ready at one location due to the risks of moving and re-starting a job, mid way.<br />
<br />
<i>Breakfast</i><br />
Yes, basic but often overlooked. Many brides feel they cannot face even a crumb of toast let alone a fry up on the morning of their big day. But I see many before 10am already eyeing up the prosecco.<br />
Most brides are up before 7am on their big day, so in the hustle and bustle of the wedding morning you can be in your dress and out that door by 12 and not a single morsel of food will have passed your lips during this time! <br />
Your adrenaline and nerves will kick in on the wedding morning, so even just half a croissant is better than nothing!<br />
<br />
<i>Surround yourself with the right people on your wedding morning</i><br />
I have seen many well meaning friends/guests/family members be part of a wedding morning, and unintentionally shift their anxieties onto the bride. Feeling anxious or nervous on your big day is perfectly normal, but you do not need everyone elses worries too!<br />
Having visitors is nice, but again this can add to the nervouseness and anxieties of the morning.<br />
Have the people you really need with you on the morning, there. Make it clear to any others, (possibly a few days before as to not cause offence) that you want your morning as relaxed and stress free as possible. <br />
I have seen many a bride go from relaxed and joyful to stressed and tearful, in the space of seconds due to a room full of people. <br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<br />
<i>Change of heart? </i><br />
It's not unusual for a bride to want to change a few things on the day when it comes to her hair and makeup. Little tweaks here and there are perfectly normal and any experienced professional will handle it like a pro.<br />
If however, you have decided upon a complete overhaul to your bridal look, do not leave this until the day.<br />
The purpose of a trial is to have a play with ideas, and agree upon a look. A tweak of hair, a change of lips is easy done, but to completely change a look on the day can cause alot of problems.<br />
There is no guarantee you will like the look once it is done, and if times have been allocated there may be no time to start all over again. This will cause a time lapse and subsequent stress for everyone involved.<br />
Some professionals only carry the products that they will need on the day, so if you decide last minute to change something, there is no guarantee the professional will have all the products to hand.<br />
If necessary contact your booked artist with any concerns and re arrange a second trial.<br />
<i><br /></i>
<i>Last minute changes.</i><br />
If for whatever reason you have last minute chages. ie, a location/address change for the morning, always inform your professionals as soon as you know.<br />
Your professionals will need to have all upto date information, to hand.<br />
Adding extra people on for hair and makeup can usually be rectified if your inform the artist before the day.<br />
<br />

<br />
<i>Purchase a nice clothes hanger</i><br />
I can imagine many a confused face reading this tip. But many a photographer will be jumping for joy. ( I imagine. )<br />
Almost all brides request, and every photographer wants to capture that perfect shot of the all important dress. <br />
More often than not bridal shops provide a standard, plastic hanger. This does nothing to show off the dress, and even accompanied with the latest pair of Jimmy choos, nothing will detract away from it in photos. Many brides purchase personalised ones now. Even a fancy one covered in silk or fabric looks so much nicer! Trust me, your photographer will thank you for it. <br />
<br />
<i>Crochet hook</i><br />
If you have a dress with many buttons to do up, trust me, this will be a life, time and patience saver.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><i>Cut all labels out of dresses, before the day. The number of times no one has a pair of scissors.</i></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
And finally, trust your professionals. If they have set times out,
stick to them. They will all have reasons as to why they need them that
way. All professionals will have small requests, which may seem
odd or out of the ordinary to you, but will more than likely mean alot
to them to ensure that they can provide you with the best service
possible.<br />
<br />
Wedding mornings are an exciting time, and remember, everyone is there to help make your day as perfect as it can be. Enjoy it!<br />

If you are like me, you relish at the prospect of a clean slate. As I type this, we are only three days into the New year and with the anticipation of another 362 days of opportunities lying ahead, a flurry of Bridal enquries filling my inbox; I thought a blog post series was well overdue! <br />
<br />
The start of a new year will always bring us to a place of reflection. A time to look back at times past, but also a time of refreshing as we plan the year ahead.<br />
<br />
If you are a bride who is getting married this year you will in no doubt be planning all the finishing touches to perfect, your big day.<br />
The venue, the Cake, THE dress; more often than not these are the go to, tick off the list immediates for all blushing brides to be.<br />
<br />
Hair and Makeup should also be a priority when planning your big day. Like many venues and photographers, the majority of Makeup Artists/Hair Artists also get booked up around 12 months before a Wedding date.<br />
<br />
Makeup/Hair stylists, like any business, will have a business plan for the year ahead which they will implement a good 10 - 12 months beforehand.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
For most established artists it's not unusual to receive a number of enquiries per day, and in turn receive multiple enquiries for the same date. So in this ever evolving, demanding market, it's more important than <i>ever</i> to get your favourite Makeup/Hair artist booked as soon as you have a Wedding date set.<br />
<br />
Brides to be now are alot more diligent when searching out that perfect artist, and rightly so.<br />
Many want to know your background/experience, the products you use, how you will plan the wedding morning timings, but more importantly; are you the artist they are looking for?<br />
<br />
When booking an artist, there are a few key factors you should look for.<br />
Working in the industry, you hear all the horror stories from concerned and expectant Brides to be.<br />
Here's a guide to helping choose the perfect artist for you.<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdWWNgKJT3q3F_qbHd2cmtwytmYXshlhhOSU-1xPmbEb76BDw31NVl6nSuWI3ThkQFcvq31rxnk1CbehAH5c6VCANoFKcehv5-HXKM0wSc4fTqB5KzUE9gEySDbV1iLhNFagGcBxkxGYu2/s1600/MINT.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" data-original-height="633" data-original-width="950" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdWWNgKJT3q3F_qbHd2cmtwytmYXshlhhOSU-1xPmbEb76BDw31NVl6nSuWI3ThkQFcvq31rxnk1CbehAH5c6VCANoFKcehv5-HXKM0wSc4fTqB5KzUE9gEySDbV1iLhNFagGcBxkxGYu2/s640/MINT.jpg" width="640" /></a></td></tr>

<br />
<i>Insured</i><br />
Is the artist insured? If the artist is qualified in their field, they should then apply to be covered by Public Liabilty Insurance.<br />
Insurance means they are qualified, and also take their role of Makeup Artist/Stylist and business seriously. If you are not sure, ask them.<br />
<br />
<i>Experience</i><br />
The majority of Industry Makeup Artists will have been working in their chosen profession, for many years.<br />
With this in mind, you will have Makeup Artists who are 'specialists' in a particular field of makeup.<br />
Makeup Artistry is a large umbrella that covers many different areas. You will have Special Effect Makeup Artists, Editorial makeup artists, Makeup Artists who specialise in Fashion makeup and so forth.<br />
All of these different areas, will call for and demand a particular skill set.<br />
You will have Makeup Artists who choose to specialise in Bridal Makeup, which will also require a competent level of skills and expertise. <br />
Lots of Makeup Artists cover a wide range of these skills, but choose to specialise in one area.<br />
A Makeup Artist who specialises in Bridal Makeup should have a honed skill set in the application of Bridal Makeup and the correct makeup products to use, but also how the makeup will wear during the day and how it will photograph. The artist should also have experience in understanding how a wedding morning works, how timings need to be set out and how to work alongside other professionals.<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<br />
<i>Reliablity/Reviews/Consistency</i><br />
Every bride will be on tender hooks, ensuring that the professionals she books for her Wedding day are reliable.<br />
The one concern I hear from brides is that everyone will turn up on the day, and no one will let her down or cancel her last minute. <br />
One of the upsides of social media is clients now have the option to leave a review for a business. Whether it be on Facebook, or on a Google business page.<br />
Reviews will help give you more insight on how reliable a professional is.<br />
Be mindful about reviews, take all reviews into account and over a set amount of time. <br />
Word of mouth is the best recommendation to booking a professional.<br />
Did they cancel/rearrange a trial more than once? Did they communicate effectively throughout your booking? Were they punctual on the Wedding day and did they get on with the bridal party/other professionals? All of these answered questions will help you give you an idea of a businesses integrity and values.<br />
<br />
<i>Diversity</i><br />
Again, experience in the industry will give any Makeup/Hair artist the edge many clients will be looking for.<br />
An experienced professional should have a portfolio that may show a signature look, but will also offer a variety of different options for a potential client.<br />
If you are planning a vintage wedding, you will want to cater towards a makeup look that will complement your Wedding theme. If you have a Boho wedding theme planned, again you will want a makeup look that will cater for this.<br />
An experienced Makeup Artist will be able to adapt their skills and knowledge to help work towards the kind of look you want for your big day.<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<i>Makeup Knowledge.</i><br />
This can be filed under, 'experience'. But not always.<br />
Makeup knowledge and understanding work hand in hand with time spent working in a chosen field and the experience gained from it.<br />
Someone who has worked in a specific field, full time for many years will have invaluable knowledge of products and application techniques that can only be obtained through trial and error.<br />
The more experience someone has applying makeup, trialing and testing many different products, the more confident you can be in the advice they can offer to help create a makeup look, perfect for you.<br />
<br />
<i>Makeup Kit</i><br />
A professionals makeup kit should be full of a different variety of brands and products.<br />
A true professional will have a passion and enthusiasm for their craft. It's a makeup artists job to know the products that are available and to trial and test them, before they are deemed worthy of being in their kit.<br />
A professional kit will more than likely have many products in, you do not recognise. Professional makeup brands that are used by industry trained professionals are not available in Department stores nor are they mainstream. These have to be sourced from specialist makeup shops. <br />
With the rise in demand for Cruelty free/Vegan makeup, a Makeup artist should also be able to offer advice on products that can be used to cater for this.<br />
<br />
With so much time planning your Wedding, researching and picking the best Bridal Makeup artist/Hair Stylist is so important.<br />
Know what you want from your artist, and then research to find that perfect MUA for your big day. <br />

<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Welcome to the final instalment of the hugely popular, Skincare Diaries!</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This is the the one all you brides to be have been asking for - how to get your skin to it's best possible health, before your big day.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Makeup CAN and WILL only do so much, so read Rebeccas tips on how to achieve the best canvas possible and ensure great looking skin and makeup that lasts all day.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Is it really necessary to take care of my skin before my big day? Won't makeup just make it look good?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">It's crucial to take care of your skin before your big day. Your make up artist can only do so much, it's essential that your skin is at its best health. No make-up can cover up a bad skin texture. Your skin is your canvas, imagine applying makeup to an unprepared canvas. It would look uneven, cracked, dull and probably not make it through the day. Then think about a canvas that has been prepared, your make-up will look even, glide on, be smooth, radiant, glowing, and still look as beautiful at the end of your Wedding day. It's your big day you want to have the best canvas possible, the only way you will achieve that is through a good skincare regime and treatment plan.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Skincare products are so expensive. Can't my make-up artist just use her skincare on the day to make my skin look better?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> </span>
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Skincare does not need to be expensive. There are options for all budgets and I can tailor your skincare/treatment plan around your budget. Skincare is an investment and commitment but worth it. Many people waste money on buying cheaper shop brands of skincare, yes they are lower in price, but are you getting the results you want? It is false economy. You have a basket of cheap products you keep changing and seeing no results with or you make an investment in a product you will use and get results from. When you look at it like that you are making a better investment long term. People so easily part with their money for clothes, bags, makeup, nails. Your skin is your biggest organ, it's representing you for your whole life, it's definitely an investment well worth making.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">To get your skin to its best health you need to make a commitment it's a journey not a race. There's no magic wand or miracle potions, it's an investment and commitment. It's impossible for the skincare applied before your make-up on your wedding day to achieve those results.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">What skincare advice would you give to a bride to be?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I would invite the bride to be in for a full bridal skincare consultation and Dermalogica Facial treatment. Discuss her main skin her concerns and goals. Then create a bespoke treatment plan leading up to her big day.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">It's essential that the bride is following a good routine at home. This will include cleansing, toning, moisturising/protection and exfoliation. There are also many other skincare products that can be added to the routine to get the best results. The main thing is to get the skin hydrated, calm and gain that great surface texture for the big day. You should always seek expert skincare advice when taking on a new skincare regime so you are using the correct products for your skin.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A bride has 6 months before her wedding day, what steps should she take to ensure her skin looks it's best on the day?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Six months before your wedding gives you enough time to make big changes with your skin. Get booked in with me I'm a skincare expert. Book for a consultation or a Facial treatment that way your skin can be analysed and a detail consultation performed to offer you the best course of treatment in preparation for your big day. Everyone's skin is different don't just pick up a product off a shelf, see an expert.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">A bride has only a month before her wedding day, do you have any advice on what she should/shouldn't be doing to ensure her skin is in tip top condition?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">There is still time with a month before your wedding day to get your skin in a healthier condition. But ideally if you can its best to start making changes as soon as possible, for the best results. You don't want to make too many changes too close to your big day as skin can be a bit unpredictable. I would still recommend getting in touch with a skin expert, even with only a month to go. You don't want to be buying incorrect products for your skin that close to your big day. Bin those baby/skin wipes, worst thing for your skin. Get cleansing, it's the most important part of your skincare routine. Exfoliation is also crucial, but always seek expert advice.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Lifestyle changes that can be made to help get that glowing skin for your wedding day</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">It's not just what you apply to your skin that affects it's appearance and condition. What you eat and the sort of lifestyle you lead has a massive impact. Below are a few tips to support your skin wellness:</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Drink 8 glasses of water daily</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Reduce your caffeine intake, swap for herbal/green teas</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Eat those greens</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Cut sugar intake</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Reduce alcohol</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Exercise</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Wash your makeup brushes weekly</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Slow down, take time out for yourself</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Get your 8 hours sleep</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><br /></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">What skincare advice would you give a mature bride who wants to ensure her skin looks the best it can on her big day?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Dermalogica have an amazing range of products that treat the concerns of a mature bride. She would be looking at getting her skin well hydrated then more skin specific products could be used in Facial treatments and at home to treat her concerns. Uneven skin texture and tone, lines, wrinkles, pigmentation, hormonal acne, redness sensitivity, and dryness can all be addressed. Allowing her skin to look at its best for her wedding day.</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">One of my favourite dermalogica products is power rich. This amazing product is a bit like a boot camp for the skin and is a fabulous product to prepare for your wedding day. Helping to reverse those signs of skin aging with a three phase formula targeting fine lines, increasing elasticity, and retaining moisture. This product has a three in one action not only is it your moisturiser it's your eye cream and exfoliator. This is one of those wow products that you won't want to put down!</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">What skincare advice, if any would you give to a bride to be the night before her wedding day?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I would hope to have seen the bride way before the night before her wedding day. That way we will have worked together to establish what would be the best most effective products to use specific to the bride's skin before her wedding day. I would not recommend trying anything new the night before her wedding. </span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Taking care of your skin every day, not just before your wedding day is vital for skin health. Makeup is fantastic at helping to enhance features and boost your confidence but having the best canvas underneath is what's going to help makeup look its absolute best.</div>

<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Following up from the very popular, Skincare Diaries, Part one - here are the most common questions I get asked about makeup in relation to skincare.</span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Your skin <i>is</i> a canvas, and will only look as good as the skin underneath.</span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I myself know, when I follow a strict morning and night regime, the difference in my skin is clearly noticeable. Not only that, but how much better my makeup looks once it is applied.</span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"> </span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Implementing a tailored skincare regime is the only way to achieve the best results. </span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Without investing in the health of your skin, you cannot expect makeup to look it's best, or last throughout the day.</span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Everyones skin is different, therefore everyones skin needs different products.</span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "georgia" , "times new roman" , serif;"><span style="font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Here, Rebbecca Hubbard, from the Beauty Bubble, based in Desford answers all your questions about how skincare affects makeup application.</span></span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">How important is skincare in relation to make-up application, and the overall finished look?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">It's crucial to take care of your skin. Your make up artist can only do so much, it's essential that your skin is at its best health. No make-up can cover up a bad skin texture. Your skin is your canvas, imagine applying makeup to an unprepared canvas. It would look uneven, cracked, dull and probably not make it through the day. Then think about a canvas that has been prepared, your make-up will look even, glide on, be smooth, radiant, glowing, and still look as beautiful at the end of the day. You want to have the best canvas possible, the only way you will achieve that is through a good skincare regime and treatment plan.</span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">If I don't follow a skincare routine for my skin type- does it matter? Wont the make-up just hide it all?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Yes it''s crucial that you are following the correct routine specific to your skin type. If you don't you will not see results and it could even worsen your skin concerns and condition. This is why it is so important to receive the expert advice and invest in a skin expert like me. You want to be getting good value for your money not wasting it on products that are not right for your skin. Make-up can not hide a skin that is not being cared for. Your skin is your canvas, a healthy canvas will radiate with make-up on. An unhealthy canvas will do the opposite, look dull, uneven and not last you as well throughout the day.</span><br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">My make-up doesn't last and goes patchy after a few hours. Even if I use a primer. Why?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">This could be due to using incorrect products to treat your skin. Are you exfoliating correctly? Are you using the correct products to treat your concerns? Again this is why it’s paramount to see an expert. If your foundation is doing that then something needs changing along the line. Primers again can only do so much, they are not miracle workers. </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">If I take care of my skin and invest in some good skincare, will my make-up look better and last longer?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Yes if you take care of your skin and invest in some skincare products your make-up will look better and last longer. As long as you are buying the correct products for your skin. So just buying products and hoping for the best will not improve your skin condition and could make it worse. That's why it’s essential to take expert advice. Or you could be wasting a lot of money that could have been invested in products that would have got you the results you wanted. Dermalogica may seem pricey to some, but you're making an investment. It’s better value for money as you will get the results you want. Rather than buying lots of lower priced products that do nothing for you and end up being a waste of money. All that money you've wasted on those products shoved in a draw soon add up. </span></div>

<br />
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Rebecca, Is it <i>really</i> necessary to cleanse, tone and moisturise?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'All three steps are important for different reasons, and are all necessary.</span>
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Cleansing is the most crucial step of your skincare regime. If you are not cleaning your skin any other products you are applying can not work effectively. </span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Toning is often overlooked in a skincare regime but again is an essential part of skin health. Toning is a great way to prepare your skin by hydrating and refreshing. There are specific toners for different skin needs and concerns. Treating hydration, protecting, age defending, and calming inflammation and redness. Dermalogica’s toners can also be spritz over the face throughout the day for extra benefits. </span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Moisturising is vital regardless of your skin condition. Moisturising helps to keep your skin soft and smooth. Also helping to protect your skin's natural defenses and preventing moisture loss. These can be compromised by the environment and other lifestyle factors. As we age your skin's barrier may also become compromised, or slower in replenishing itself. You can get a variety of different moisturisers suitable for all skin conditions and types.'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Do I need to use a serum? What do they do?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'To start with you need to get the basics in place first with your skincare regime. Then you can begin to add other products like serums. Serums are great to target more skin specific concerns, but get the basics in place first.' </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Why is exfoliation an important skincare step?</span>
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'Exfoliation is vital in a skincare regime<b>.</b> Exfoliation makes a dramatic difference to your skin and it's appearance. Without exfoliation your skin will appear dull, lacklustre and your products will be less effective. Exfoliation will improve product penetration, allowing your products to be more effective. Exfoliation is like a personal trainer for your skin. As your skin ages it slows down, exfoliation helps to speed it back up improving it's appearance. Exfoliation is a crucial step for all skin types. Advice is essential in what type of exfoliation is right for your skin type and condition. Some skins may need hydrating or calming before exfoliation can be introduced.'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Do you recommend face oils? How do they work?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'Face oils can be a fantastic addition to your skincare regime. Though only if you have the basics right first, an oil alone will not give you any real benefits. Dermalogica do some fantastic face oils, that reinforce your skin's protective barrier. Help to retain your skin's natural moisture, replenish, protect, revitalize giving you a dewy luminous skin. Once you have spoken with me we can look at which oil if any would be suitable for your skin.' </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Do I need to have a different skincare regime AM/PM?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'Yes, there are some differences between your AM and PM routine. In the morning you will be wanting to apply a sun protection to your skin along with your other skincare products. In the evening you will be wanting to double cleanse your skin. This will remove any make-up and dirt build up from the day. You and your skin are more relaxed at night so it's a great time to use overnight oils and treatments the work more effectively when your skin is relaxed. Retinol is also a fantastic product to be used overnight, only recommended through the winter as your skin becomes more sensitive in the summer months.'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">If a lady has dry skin what steps should she be implementing into her skincare regime?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'If your skin is dry you need to be using products that will be repairing its natural barrier. Exfoliation is also crucial, as there will be a build of of dry skin. During an expert consultation these things can be addressed and the correct treatment plan can be designed with a suitable home care regime created.'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">I</span><span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">f a lady has oily skin what products should she be using to help regulate her oil production? </span>
</div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'An oily skin needs hydrating, a thorough cleansing regime and exfoliation. There is often a lot of confusion with oily skins. I find oily skins are very rare and a lot of people can feel and appear to have an oily skin when they have not. This is often due to the incorrect use of products or the wrong types of products being used on their skin that creates an oily complexion. This is why it's essential to get the correct advice when it comes to skincare. If your skin is naturally oily then there are some fantastic Dermalogica products that can help to reduce the oil production. Oil controlling lotions, mattifiers and primers.'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Does an oily skin need to moisturise?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'Yes an oily skin needs to moisturise. It may naturally produce more oil but this does not mean it doesn't need hydrating. An oily skin will also benefit from oil free moisturisers and mattifiers to help reduce the shine and oil production through the day.'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Do you recommend baby wipes/face wipes as a skincare step?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;"><span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'No no no! Baby wipes are the worst thing for your skin. You are simply smearing the dirt around your face. Can you imagine how much bacteria and dirt you're leaving to fester on your skin?</span> Then moisturising over the top? It doesn't bare thinking about. The wipes are also not made with the most sensitive quality ingredients so will be causing friction and dragging, damaging the skin's surface. Dermalogica have a wipe called 'precleanse wipe.' This contains their popular cleansing oil, the wipe allows you to apply it but then you will still rinse off after.'</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">Is an eye cream essential? If so why do you recommend this skincare step?</span></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'Yes an eye treatment is essential. The skin around your eyes is a lot thinner therefore needs treating differently. It produces less oil so is more prone to dehydration and lines. Our eyes have 22 muscles that are constantly working when using facial expressions. Your eyes are the first place that show stress. Make-up application and removal also add stress to the delicate eye area.' </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div dir="ltr" style="line-height: 1.38; margin-bottom: 0pt; margin-top: 0pt; text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: 700; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">How long after using a new skincare regime should I see results?</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: "arial" , serif , "emojifont"; font-size: 12pt; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: pre-wrap;">'This all depends on your skin type. But you should notice an improvement in your skin condition within the first week. All depending on how committed you are to professional treatments and your homecare routine. Professional treatments and a homecare routine work fantastically together. Using the products at home with expert guidance will give you results but you will get far better and faster results if you use them alongside professional facial treatments'</span></div>

A new you, a new healthy lifestyle and possible, new career prospects. <br />
<br />
Over the past four years, I have built and grown my own business. Countless, sleepless nights, working more than 60 hours a week, spending far too much time on my laptop and phone; each and every day pushing myself that little more 'I will work harder, I will succeed'.<br />
But, succeed at what?<br />
<br />
For me, Christmas is a time where I can spend quality time with family and friends, but also a time for reflection.<br />
I am lucky that with my business, I can pick and choose if I want a busy Jan/Feb. So with that in mind, I decided to take a well deserved, three weeks off to recuperate and recharge.<br />
<br />
Easier said than done.<br />
<br />
I am all for women building their empires; young, rising entrepreneurs, and for most doing all this while they are also bringing up children and running a home. <i>Superwomen. </i><br />
<br />
But have we reached a time where it is now acceptable, that if we don't kill ourselves trying to succeed in all we do, we are not trying hard enough?<br />
To feel guilty to want or need to take a day off? To want to spend some of that hard earnt, cash on yourself?<br />
<br />
Why do I feel guilty If I want some time off? Why do I feel like I'm letting myself down if I don't try each and every day, to further progress my business or improve myself in some way? <br />
Why do I struggle to relax and switch off, during my time off - to then come back into the business feeling just as exhausted as when I left it?<br />
<br />
In all honesty, once the Christmas chaos is over, I wait in dreaded anticipation for all the NY resolutions (yawn) to start. Posts about, 'New year, new you', This year do this, this year be better.... *rolls eyes*<br />
<br />
Why do we need to make changes, only in January?<br />
During my time off, I decided a few things needed to change, but they would be lifestyle changes. Small adjustments to help me through the next few months, not just the year.<br />
<br />
Here are a few of my 'lifestyle changes'. Changes that don't involve you getting a gym member card, going on the soup diet or overloading your instagram feed with, what are deemed, inspirational, NY posts. I avoid the word 'resolution', it may bring me out in hives.<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Learn to PRIORITISE.</b><br />
Does that <i>thing</i>, really need doing now? Today? Can it wait?<br />
I don't know about you, but I can become a little OCD once I get an idea in my head. I need to do it now, it must get one, <i>if I don't the world might end, and I will die, </i>sort of OCD. That's not healthy, and I'm slowly learning to chill. If I know I will be having a particularly busy week, I now make a list of things I need to do, to stop me from feeling overwhelmed. It's also a great feeling to know I don't spend the whole of my work life procrastinating, as I tick the odd thing off the list. <br />

<b>Find BALANCE</b><br />
How much of your life so you spend working/stressing/worrying/spending time with loved ones/doing things you enjoy.<br />
I Spend most of my time working, with the second largest part worrying about things I cannot change. How is that healthy or beneficial?<br />
We must work to live, and if you are building/running a business you will feel like it takes over your entire life, but you are allowed a break. <br />
I try to find a little time each day, where I do something I enjoy. I love reading, and alot can be said for just sitting down with a cuppa and a slice of cake. <br />
<br />
<b>Put that bloody phone down</b><br />
I am the worst for this. In all fairness, I could not do my job without my phone or laptop. But I have now developed the habit of checking my phone every few minutes. Proof again, I have a relationship with my business/work life/ Not good.<br />
Yes, you may need to have your phone with you at all times, but does it need checking every five minutes? Do you have to reply to an enquiry 8pm at night? Answer - No.<br />
I now, either turn my phone off or leave it in a different room. This 'new change' is still in, baby steps mode, so will take me a while to break!<br />
<br />
<b>TREAT yourself</b><br />
When was the last time you treated yourself? I love a little time to myself. Pop out for a quiet coffee, or catch up with a friend, have a long soak in the bath. Buy yourself that pair of shoes you have been eyeing up for the past few weeks. Again, nothing too elaborate, just a small treat here and there - why not?<br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>Be KINDER to yourself.</b><br />
This is a big one for me, and many other women I know.<br />
There are days, where nothing seems to go right, and I mean <i>nothing. </i>From the minute I wake up, I seem to be a walking disaster. Inevitably, from that, I then blame myself for everything, and before I know it I have created a whole host of new problems, I never had to begin with!<br />
I'm very good at pointing out all the things I have yet to succeed in, all the things I haven't done and all the things I've messed up on. It's amazing when you share these thoughts with a close friend/family member and they remind you what you have actually acheived in the past year. If you are doing your best, what more can you do? Stop beating yourself up, and keep going.<br />
<br />
<br />
Implement a few of these things, in your life - and I'm pretty sure after a few weeks they will become new, positive habits in your life too!<br />
What positive changes have you made this year, so far?<br />

<b>Diana Howard - Vice president of research and development for Dermalogica</b><br />
<br />
Hands up, who else loves how their skin feels after a good, exfoliation?<br />
I love all things skin care, but if I had to choose just two skincare essentials that I couldn't live without ( <i>please</i> don't ask me to pick just the one! ) it would be a worth while exfoliator and a good, quality face oil!<br />
<br />
I was fortunate enought to be gifted the new Dermalogica, Daily Superfoliant to trial. From the first try - I was in no doubt, that this product was a game changer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9Pe2lRM2ooBRpzrWw4qyLP7OJQLqmXYVGP86hQHCaG8uMpIgkx6COR3o7_EooUM_JxQjoHLvwG6xCqROnQTGLVYQPzIvZlVEKQmjBt0AGm7m82j9LVXTFo4P-2w7FgqZlvktzlM6DOE9Q/s1600/skin2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="398" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9Pe2lRM2ooBRpzrWw4qyLP7OJQLqmXYVGP86hQHCaG8uMpIgkx6COR3o7_EooUM_JxQjoHLvwG6xCqROnQTGLVYQPzIvZlVEKQmjBt0AGm7m82j9LVXTFo4P-2w7FgqZlvktzlM6DOE9Q/s400/skin2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I don't know about you, but I always struggle to find a facial exfoliator that's just right.<br />
I find many, too harsh as I'm left feeling my skin has been stripped of any known moisture.<br />
Others, I find too wishy-washy, as I hopelessly add more to my face, willing it to be more 'exfoliator worthy'.<br />
<br />
The Daily Superfoliant, doesn't look at all impressive when you pop it into the palm of your hand. Infact, it looks like a handful of soot. But, bear with me.<br />
I had been re-assured by a Dermalogica, skin specialist that this stuff, was amazing. So, with that in mind I bypassed the fact it looked like my face was covered in ash.<br />
<br />
After cleansing, Carefully, tip a little into the palm of you hand ( around a teaspoon size is recommended. You can always add more ) then add a little water to the exfoliator. This activates the product. Once the water is added, the product turns into a very, lighty foamy paste. At this stage, you apply to the skin.<br />
The feel on the skin, is comfortable. It doesn't feel harsh, but leaves the skin feeling revitalised and fresh.<br />
<br />
Once you have washed it off, effects are immediate. My skin looked brighter, clearer and more refined.<br />
Your skin will feel 'clean' like you've just stepped out from having a professional facial.<br />
I was impressed.<br />
<br />
As with all exfoliators, the more often you use it, you will begin to see a more long-term effect to the complexion. I have been using it, every other day for the past few weeks and I can already see a huge improvement to the clarity and texture of my complexion.<br />
<br />
Containing: <br />
<b>Activated Binchotan Charcoal Powder to extract
dirt and oil</b><br />
<b>Rice bran, which gives the powder it's grit</b><br />
<b>Niacinamide, which has anti-inflammatory properties</b><br />
<b>Lactic acid to remove dead skin cells</b><br />
<br />
One thing to bear in mind with this product.<br />
It can be used daily, but for myself, I found this too much. I do have sensitive skin, so reduced use to every other day.<br />
This is also recommended on the Dermalogica website.<br />

At this time I had greasy skin, daily breakouts and consequently, low self esteem.<br />
Fast forward 15 years ( where <i>did</i> the time go? ) my skin craves plenty of TLC in the form of face oils, and rich moisturisers, alas still with the same monthly breakouts.<br />
Therefore, I couldn't contain my excitment when Dermalogica and Preen Me contacted me, inviting me to take part in their #Myfacemystory campaign.<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
You may have already heard of Dermalogicas Face Mapping, service and like myself passed it off as another fad *slaps wrist*<br />
If you, like so many men and women in this UK, spend hours looking at new skincare products, buying them, trying them and discarding them (and let's be honest, leaving them to fester in the bathroom cupboard) this service was put together with you in mind, and you need to read on.<br />
<br />
<b>'During a Face Mapping® skin analysis, the therapist will divide your
face into fourteen different zones. Each zone is examined inch-by-inch
through touch and sight, and the findings are outlined on a prescription
sheet, where conditions including congestion, breakouts, dehydration,
and/or hyperpigmentation are illustrated. Basically, Dermalogica Skin
Therapists know how to read your skin!'</b><br />
<br />
My Dermalogica Face Mapping experience consisted of several steps.<br />
<br />
<b>Step one:</b><br />
Filling out a questionnaire in regards to my current skin care regime/skin concerns and so forth. This was then handed to the Skin expert, who was carrying out the face mapping service.<br />
<br />
<b>Step Two: </b><br />
Having my skin analysed by the Dermalogica Skin expert through the means of a skin scanner.<i> Alot </i>less terrifying than it sounds, I assure you.<br />
<br />
I actually loved this part of the whole experience. This nifty piece of machinery detects UV damage,<br />
oil production, cell renewal and comedones ( blackheads )<br />
You sit in front of the machine, with your skin expert on the opposite side. She can then evaluate your skin, through the findings. The best bit? You can actually see what she is seeing.<br />
I have pigmentation, as I have freckles - these were shown as black specks/darker areas on the face.<br />
I had a red/pink area around my eyes, which showed dehydration. <br />
I also has small white 'flecks' visible - which showed my skin was renewing itself.<br />
The findings will be different for everyone, and it's amazing to see it first hand.<br />
<br />
<b>Step Three:</b><br />
Having my skin analysed through touch and sight.<br />
<br />
The final part was having the Analyst observe my skin through a magnifying device, through touch and sight. <br />
Your Dermalogica skin expert will access your skin, and it's all to do with 14 different zones.<br />
The face mapping idea is that the skin on your face is indictive of the bodies internal health. The face landscape being divided into 14, different areas.<br />
For example: Areas 13-14 are the jaw line. The area here is linked to the ovaries, hence why many women break out here, before or during menstruation. <br />
The areas and descriptions are far too indepth to breakdown here, so do go to the Official Dermalogica Webpage, to see the full explanation of all 14 areas. It's fascinating, and may help give you some insight into your own skin health.<br />
<a href="http://www.dermalogica.co.uk/uk/yourskin/30_article_face_mapping_skin_analysis.html" target="_blank">Dermalogica Skin Mapping</a><br />
<br />
<b>Step Four:</b><br />
Having a personalised, Skin Prescription put together from the results of the above findings.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqxF6vazZgTr0BBtQFLbA3_7fhD3SbYRNOFzknuuP8QwOSDCUYMfu1eAGSbDoLEx1kXLakBr_IjoWo_yZF6otyIND1Ru4bCH8zFVSZh-blsnwquKSTmaWkwsrEpEC3rS1lH6KOyyubaOKE/s1600/skin1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqxF6vazZgTr0BBtQFLbA3_7fhD3SbYRNOFzknuuP8QwOSDCUYMfu1eAGSbDoLEx1kXLakBr_IjoWo_yZF6otyIND1Ru4bCH8zFVSZh-blsnwquKSTmaWkwsrEpEC3rS1lH6KOyyubaOKE/s640/skin1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
To conclude the whole experience, Judy then gave me a breakdown of my skin health, and products I should maybe try to give me the best complexion possible!<br />
I loved that skincare was being 'prescribed' for my individual needs, just the same as if you were to go to the doctors. You are assessed and prescribed the correct medication, to heal your ailments.<br />
This is just the same, but for skin! <br />
<br />
How much easier ( and relaxing ) does this sound, then stressing yourself out in a department store or local chemist, trying to find yet <i>another</i> skin care regime, you won't use.<br />
<br />
<b>Book in!</b><br />
Dermalogicas Face Mapping is a FREE service, yes you heard me correctly, FREE.<br />
I had mine done at Burleigh Springs in Loughborough and was told that the use of the skin scanner costs a mere £5.00. If you then buy any of the products recommended to you, this £5.00 is minused off your bill.<br />
<br />
There is no commitment to buy the products recommended to you. You are given your prescription sheet, and can buy them whenever you wish.<br />
The products are higher priced, but that's because they work! They are pure products, scientifically proven to work if professionally recommended. You only need the smallest amount - and you won't be leaving these in the bathroom cupboard to fester!<br />
The best bit? If you are not happy with the product after trying it, you can have it/them exchanged. <br />
<br />
I was gifted the four products that were recommended for me, and I will be sharing these with you during the following weeks. I'm already in love with them.<br />

If you are a regular client of mine, then you will know - I love my Crown Brushes.
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Whether I am working on a Photoshoot, doing a lovely Brides makeup, or
even a one to one Makeup lesson - you will always find me using my trusty Crown brushes.<br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now, I own ALOT of makeup brushes - Although my excuse is, I have been buying them for the past 13 years!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Having worked for some of the biggest brand's in makeup, I know a good
makeup brush when I see and use one - and you can't go far wrong with
brushes from these guys.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you already use their brushes, you will know that the quality is
second to none - but you will also know that their prices are amazing.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Yes, you can buy two or three brushes from Crown, and not have to take out a second mortgage to pay for them.<br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here I have listed a few of my favourite brushes from Crown. Let's start with a few of my favourite base brushes.<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaoxycsM_NGG9jzWkFc-MO52lcplI8XJhvlwvchjt9LBSTEexgbZ0FPTROioCAhh64CcOOgM7r_Wj40tkqymSysTdMnhvEBXjW1DzLCYKxxu1_LBdiJmB_wCBnTkH1esJ4mQQ4lX3Xsqni/s1600/crown1fb.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="484" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaoxycsM_NGG9jzWkFc-MO52lcplI8XJhvlwvchjt9LBSTEexgbZ0FPTROioCAhh64CcOOgM7r_Wj40tkqymSysTdMnhvEBXjW1DzLCYKxxu1_LBdiJmB_wCBnTkH1esJ4mQQ4lX3Xsqni/s1600/crown1fb.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br />
<br />
<u><b>C406</b> </u></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Love, love love this brush. I always reach for this brush when I want
more of a natural finish to the foundation I am using. Being a larger
brush, less product is distributed - leaving the skin looking
deceptively flawless. The popular duo brush - buffs the product onto the
skin. I also love to use this brush if applying makeup to the body.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>C439</b></u> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is my FAVOURITE Crown, Face brush. This is catergorised under their
bronzer brushes section - but I also use it with cream foundation. The
bristles are so tightly packed it buffs whatever makeup product you have
on them so effortlessley onto the skin - it's fab for anyone with
larger pores as it smooths makeup over them. It is also great for
powders, and bronzers - as it leaves a natural, subtle look - helping
mimick a natural tan.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>C472</b></u></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A relatively new purchase, the brush hairs are tightly packed into the furrell and softly angled.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This brush is great is you are a fan of contouring your cheeks - and
buffs whatever makeup medium, whether it be powder or cream beautifully
into the skin.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>C454</b></u> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Another new purchase, great brush for more controlled, contour work and more precise placement of product.<br />
<u> <b>C429</b></u> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Love this duo brush, in smaller form. You have to feel the brush hairs,
to believe how fine, and delicate they are. Absolutely love this brush
at buffing concealer onto problem areas. It's so soft, it distributes
just enough product - so you get no build up. Heaven.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>C460</b></u> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I use this brush for concealer under the eye - the shape makes it easy
to 'pat' and 'place' the product just where you need it - you can then
use the same brush to pat until evenly distributed.<br />
<br />
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br />
<br />
Here are a few Crown brushes I have, that not many people own - and many ask about when they see them in my brush belt.<br />
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>C200</b></u><br />
<b> </b> I like to call this a 'bigger blending brush' - bigger than your average blending brush.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It's great at softening down any harsh edges in re to eyeshadows and
using transition colours ( lighter, complimenting colours ) to soften. A
great brush to have to really 'blow' shadow out - resulting in a soft
fusion and gruduation of colour.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>IB113</b></u><br />
<b> </b> My all time favourite angle brush for eyeliner, whether it be powder or
gel - and also for applying product to your brows. I find the brush
handle, longer than other brands - therefore giving greater ease of use.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>C465</b></u><br />
<b> </b> Finally! A brush to use with cosmetic glitter! Any Makeup artist will
know the pain of trying to apply eye glitters/glues with your average
makeup brush - and also trying to clean them after!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This silicon 'brush' means you can pat the glitter onto the eye/face,
avoiding a lot less product fall down. Cleaning of this brush is also so
easy - wash in warm water!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><u>C461</u> </b> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Love this brush - for so many reasons. It's a true multi-purpose brush.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Use it to smudge eyeliners, shadows, create a cut crease, crease work,
applying highlighter to inner corners of the eye/brown bone - the list
is endless.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><b>SS033</b></u> </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Tiny smudge brush. Feels softer on the eyes than a larger brush, great
for more detailed eye makeup - I've even used this as a lip brush on
more than one occasion.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>BK41</b> Bought this over Christmas - love using this
to 'clean' up eyeliner - making it look sharper and more defined. It's
also great if you are a fan of the sharp, clean brow - great for
applying concealer with.</div>

A
good 25 mins can be spent hydrating, priming, blending and perfecting
the desired, Bridal base makeup. But if all this work is going to slide
off in August temperatures, ( well, maybe not in England ) and the
hustle and bustle of busy wedding morning preperations - what's the
point?<br />
<br />
I have been using this product on my brides for the past two years, and they love it!<br />
It's
a finely milled powder, with a translucent finish. I use the powder
puff included, to 'press' the powder onto the skin, using a soft powder
brush to brush away excess.<br />
The skin is left velvety matte with a lovely High-Definition finish. It diminishes shine and helps to disguise large pores.<br />
<br />
It's
a fabulous product for helping to keep makeup, intact. For excessively
oily skin, I do find it hard to find a product that will keep faces,
shine-free pretty much all day.<br />
<br />
This powder is perfect for use in conjuction with their fabulous foundations and concealers.<br />
See my previous post on their <a href="http://rutheblogger.blogspot.co.uk/2015/07/vichy-fluid-corrective-foundation.html" target="_blank">16hr Corrective Foundation here</a><br />
<br />
I use this powder to set various foundations, or to get rid of unwanted shine. <br />
<br />
As
with all translucent powders, I still find they work best on fairer
skins - although I did use this on a bride the weekend who was around a
NC35 in MAC foundation. I applied using only a large powder brush,
ommiting the powder puff usage and it didn't alter the colour of the
foundation or give her skin an ashey tone.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I remember being that excited I completely demolished the box, like a kid at Christmas. It was jam packed with so many gorgeous things I didn't know what to experiment with first!<br />
<br />
I initially popped together a blog post, praising their eyeshadow palettes whilst the rest of the makeup got nealty placed in my makeup storage room. Yes, I have a room soley dedicated to my makeup hoard. <br />
<br />
I moved last year, and slowly buy surely I am getting my own office space and studio, put together.<br />
It's painstackingly, boring. But, it must be done.<br />
Whilst having a 'sort out ' I came across these lippies from W7. Still in their original sealed state, never been opened. So in true procrastinating fashion, I digressed from the tidying and instead started unwrapping the rest of my W7 stash. <br />
<br />
Oh how I wish I had opened them sooner. <br />
These lipsticks are without doubt, up there with some of the best I have ever tried. I have tried near enough, every brand available, so in turn I am fussy with what I deem a good quailty lipstick.<br />
<br />
The name 'butter kiss' is so apt. The consistency and texture are to die for. Rich and buttery, they leave a comforting application and a <i>full</i> pop of colour.<br />
The pigment is so strong that even when it wears off, a stain of colour still remains.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibFdT9sYF_4S2rH9sVKbTbqbQW_5JyhymIwxompLCz-wBfTgNHHOniS_gNLQYdhCqizbSW4ru-8PCHSL0ZL0i1XElBIpsSwmdvNuxsDcTowekTnzPRvktGtNxisWgyx-5e2Y0lA5g_paKc/s1600/w7lipsticknames.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEibFdT9sYF_4S2rH9sVKbTbqbQW_5JyhymIwxompLCz-wBfTgNHHOniS_gNLQYdhCqizbSW4ru-8PCHSL0ZL0i1XElBIpsSwmdvNuxsDcTowekTnzPRvktGtNxisWgyx-5e2Y0lA5g_paKc/s640/w7lipsticknames.png" width="483" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
With only one application, a full coverage of colour is given.<br />
I've always been a fan of higher pigment lipsticks. They are so much more versatile in terms of adapdability. If you prefer a 'stained' effect to the lips, apply with the finger - just patting them lightly.<br />
Alternatively, mix with a gloss, for a richly coloured, glossy lip. I've even been known to use fuller pigment lipsticks such as these, as cream blushers. The choices are endless!<br />
<br />
I've already ordered a few more colours from the W7 website, I wait in anticipation for their arrival!<br />

Artdeco.<br />
<br />
During one of my, <i>scouring the internet, hunting down makeup</i> - sort of days, I stumbled across several reviews about this lesser known brand and the following, gorgeous product. So decided to invest in a few for my professional kit.<br />
Introducing, Artdeco Rich Treatment Foundation.<br />
<br />
I'm a sucker for foundations and base makeup. I have tried a ridiculous number of brands and numerous formulas. Some failed, and very few passed with flying colours.<br />
<br />
Artdecos' Rich Treatment Foundation, didn't fail to leave a lasting impression.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNVFqxng7BOJWjhxwpGlPx2d-pZnH5BNXE5ugdrFQ1EgVLaRUk6xOZxyfNjN2rgEsY46uP0P7k_fJAdgxVMuek3CgLLVldhZ_uSoowxmcAckMOs5IvtMi412s30yjvtDMaqr6POXWXdh5m/s1600/art2insta.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNVFqxng7BOJWjhxwpGlPx2d-pZnH5BNXE5ugdrFQ1EgVLaRUk6xOZxyfNjN2rgEsY46uP0P7k_fJAdgxVMuek3CgLLVldhZ_uSoowxmcAckMOs5IvtMi412s30yjvtDMaqr6POXWXdh5m/s400/art2insta.png" width="286" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I tend to reach for this foundation if my skin is a little drier, and in need of some serious TLC.<br />
It provides a gorgeous, comforting layer of medium/full coverage goodness - leaving a radiant glow which is perfect for a more dry/dehydrated skin.<br />
<br />
As I get further into my 30s, Matte foundations/base products are much less forgiving. For me, they leave me looking tired, flat and dull - and if that isn't enough, by the end of the day my skin looks like it's in dire need of a good drink as fine lines look all the more obvious.<br />
<br />
At £18.50 a bottle, ( Pricing correct on Beauty bay as of January 2017 ) it's at the higher end of the foundation prices. The bottle contains 20g of product, which compared to other brands, is somewhat smaller. But in all fairness - with such a rich, quality product you need only use a tiny amount to get the desired effect.<br />
The bottle comes with a handy applicator, which is a great idea as the product is a thick consistency. <br />
<br />
<br />
<b>The important stuff and what you <i>really</i> want to know.</b><br />
<br />
<b>Price</b><br />
£18.50 for 20ml - Pricing correct on Beauty Bay as of 4th January 2017.<br />
<br />
<b>Pros</b><br />
Rich, comforting texture.<br />
Great for dry/dehydrated skins.<br />
Gives a luminous, healthy glow to the skin.<br />
Works well on more mature skins.<br />
Wears well - without dulling or oxidising. <br />
Handy applicator, to ensure you use the desired amount and finish, every last drop before re-purchasing. <br />
<br />
<b>Cons</b><br />
Higher price range<br />
May not work as well on oilier skins. Always check your skin type before purchasing a foundation.<br />
Not so much a con, BUT from the colours I have tried this foundation seems more pink based, so may not be ideal for those of you with an olive/golden undertone. Hunt out samples on Ebay, before purchasing.<br />
<br />
<b>Overall impression</b><br />
Gorgeous, glowy skin with a fabulous coverage. I always get compliments when wearing this foundation. A dusting of powder is all I need to help set it and it still looks great after a days wear.<br />
<br />
<b>Buy again?</b><br />
Yes. A lovely find, perfect for drier/more mature skins. <br />
<br />
All in all, a big thumbs up for this foundation. It's perfect for my drier skin during these winter months.<br />
Have you tried any other Artdeco products? What would you recommend?<br />

It doesn't bear thinking about, the amount of money I have spent in the pursuit of ( possibly unattainable ) skin perfection.<br />
<br />
Having heard so many glowing reviews about NIP + FAB products I decided to take the plunge, reveling at the prospect of a new product to try and fingers crossed, hopefully; fall in love with.<br />
<br />
Debating prices and scouring various reviews, I eventually decided upon the Glycolic Fix Serum.<br />
This particular ingredient, I know suits my skin - so I was already anticipating beyond, amazing results.<br />
This overnight serum contains 4% Glycolic Acid and also Soothing Aloe Vera. Another staple favourite in many skincare products.<br />
Glycolic Acid is a favourite among skincare enthusiasts. Helping to exfoliate, reduce fine lines and over time, reduce the appearance of dark spots and uneven skin tone. What's not to love?<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihX-E1v-qI9Tkb3_snyuqE4nzZCVjWaymnbtoTyaHAp6ReMku-Gy2pQ-JdqW1CQI1ABN2GR7FSql5SXiCXVmRQRygryxWMZEaNYiWzXd8aC4tgUSkYmghXOhIwGzDqfxVktUgo01tH7rPC/s1600/nip+fabblog.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEihX-E1v-qI9Tkb3_snyuqE4nzZCVjWaymnbtoTyaHAp6ReMku-Gy2pQ-JdqW1CQI1ABN2GR7FSql5SXiCXVmRQRygryxWMZEaNYiWzXd8aC4tgUSkYmghXOhIwGzDqfxVktUgo01tH7rPC/s400/nip+fabblog.png" width="393" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
The serum is a gel like, texture and I find one pump is enough for the whole face, working the remaining product, down the neck.<br />
<br />
It dries pretty quick upon contact without leaving a sticky residue, feel or tackiness.<br />
Like most serums, it leaves no shine or texture to the skin, just sinking in ready for your next skincare, step.<br />
<br />
<br />
<b>The important stuff and what you <i>really</i> want to know.</b><br />
<br />
<b>Price</b><br />
£14.95 for 30ml. Pricing at Superdrug. Correct as of the 4th January 2017.<br />
<br />
<b>Pros</b><br />
I have sensitive skin, but this stuff seems to suit my temperamental epidermis, pretty well.<br />
Not overly scented.<br />
A gel like texture, unlike some serums which are more of a liquid/watery consistency.<br />
Great, pump dispenser. I love packaging that is designed like this. I find one pump provides just the perfect amount for the whole face and neck.<br />
<br />
<b>Cons</b><br />
None. If I was to be picky... As with all cosmetic/skincare packaging that conceals the actual product thats contained inside, ( Either due to the material or colour ) you never know when it will actually run out, until, it runs out. <br />
<br />
<b>After 4 weeks of use</b><br />
With regular use, my skin looks more refined, clearer, brighter AND smoother.<br />
I suffer with dry patches on my face during the colder months and this has really helped.<br />
Makeup sits so much better after using this for several weeks.<br />
No breakouts, and improved skin texture.<br />
<br />
<b>Buy again?</b><br />
100% Yes. <br />
<br />
I would love to try more from this seemingly, fabulous range.<br />

<br />
The Winter months have quickly desended upon us, and suddenly Christmas seems just around the corner. What better time to get glammed up, than at Christmas? It's the perfect excuse to buy that dress you've been eyeing up for the past few weeks, and an even <i>better</i> excuse for upping your game in the makeup stakes.<br />
Introducing Ardere, Eye glitters.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2LDv_och2pZQHMHuQ964X81tG90giTNFrOKPIbYfEIWgiEIMZEPtueTLLCqCyUQbKnO5z2UPrBKponuCCD3po1XGdBr246xge6THAhsn_4hFIRPum6DlC5F6E2k1f64MxE9EzCliATMrj/s1600/ardere+finalblog.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2LDv_och2pZQHMHuQ964X81tG90giTNFrOKPIbYfEIWgiEIMZEPtueTLLCqCyUQbKnO5z2UPrBKponuCCD3po1XGdBr246xge6THAhsn_4hFIRPum6DlC5F6E2k1f64MxE9EzCliATMrj/s640/ardere+finalblog.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
These little gems could have been made, for the holiday season. The packaging alone exudes luxury and glamour. With it's gold rimmed lid and clear casing, it perfectly showcases the gorgeous sparkles that are contained inside. Just like a pre-wrapped Christmas gift, you could quite easily pop it under the tree as it is, no fancy wrapping or tying of bows needed. <br />
<br />
I think I speak for all ladies, alike - when I say we all love a little glitter, right? I'm not talking bright green glitter, resembling the wicked witch of the west, reserved for children parties. I'm talking - grown up glitter.<br />
Is there such a thing? There is now. <br />
<br />
Ardere cosmetics have hit the nail on the head, with their colour range. The colours are rich, luxurious, tempting you in.<br />
With names such as Mocha, True Gold, Peony, it's only a matter of time before you treat yourself to one (or two)<br />
<br />
Being a makeup artist, I have used my fair share of cosmetic glitters. Unfortunately, alot look very pretty, but don't feel as great once applied. Scratchy, heavy, and gritty are my personal experience of many cosmetic glitters. Ardere's eye glitters are so fine, almost like small grains of glittering sand.<br />
Weightless when on, you will forget you are wearing them.<br />
<br />
I have all eight colours, and still find it hard to choose which one to wear!<br />
Apply using the Ardere eye fix, adhesive. This glue is not gloopy nor sticky. The application using this is nothing like trying to use an eyelash glue to apply glitter, which let's be honest, ends up a sticky mess. Arderes glitter adhesive, feels more like a skincare product when applied to the skin, and leaves no residue. Amazing.<br />

'How did you get a job at MAC?'<br />
<br />
I worked for this company a good few years ago now, for around 3 years.<br />
I had worked on various makeup counters from the age of 21 and when I was 29, decided to apply for a position there.<br />
It's daunting, and a little intimidating applying for a job on a counter where nearly all staff who work there, look like they've stepped off a catwalk. But really, it's like any other job in retail/makeup counter job.<br />
<br />
MAC is part of the Estee Lauder 'umbrella', and the first piece of advice I would give you is:<br />
<br />
<b>KNOW THE BRAND</b><br />
Whatever brand you are interested in working for, if they are part of the Estee Lauder group they will want to see that you have a genuine interest in working for the brand. A passion for the products. A knowledge of the brands history and ethics is crucial, and the first step to securing a face to face interview.<br />
<br />
I worked for many brands under the Estee Lauder name, and unless it's changed since I had my first interview for Bobbi Brown ( another Estee lauder company ) almost ten years ago, the first step once you find a job online, is a telephone interview.<br />
You will need to call to apply for the position, and THAT'S when you have your telephone interview, so make sure you are prepared.<br />
<br />
Questions you may be asked.<br />
Why do you like this Brand?<br />
Why do you want to work for this brand?<br />
What can you tell me about the beginnings of the brand, and give me some history? ( how it was founded, by who, when it was founded )<br />
Name a product from this brand you like, and tell me about it.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbCNv-ydhAV7WtfJtb8TV7c5zi6aPmus_JZBsl5BTv8i9UcyW7BSylO21ugjoHUjLe8xcWlZsvoVZsmaTrHUPe_EhjXDa7tfSzjghErU_X_z2WfsBg8yyQska38HNsVnVcT_I07dBvEva_/s1600/maccc.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbCNv-ydhAV7WtfJtb8TV7c5zi6aPmus_JZBsl5BTv8i9UcyW7BSylO21ugjoHUjLe8xcWlZsvoVZsmaTrHUPe_EhjXDa7tfSzjghErU_X_z2WfsBg8yyQska38HNsVnVcT_I07dBvEva_/s640/maccc.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This part of the Interview lasts around 10 - 15 mins. It may not even last that long, but it's to give them an idea of your genuine interest,<br />
<b>TIP: Don't be fooled into thinking just because you have a makeup qualification you will automatically get the job. I had a friend who made this mistake and had not researched the brand, so got told on the phone interview she had not been successful.</b> If memory serves me correctly, if you are unsuccessful you cannot apply again for another 6 months. Again, this may have now changed.<br />
<br />
I also think, that they now require anyone who applies to already have either retail experience/ makeup counter experience, but this will be told to you when you apply.<br />
<br />
IF you pass this telephone stage, you will be told straight away, and then the next step is a Manager from the brand, usually the Counter Manager, or Area Manager will contact you for your face to face interview.<br />
<br />
<b>The face to face interview with MAC, is to determine your Makeup skills and to see if they think you will be suitable for the position.</b> I was interviewed by both the Manager and Assistant manger.<br />
It works in your favour to provide a portfolio of any Makeup work you may have done. You are applying for a Makeup artist job, so you need to demonstrate and sell yourself as a Makeup artist should.<br />
I'm pretty sure when I was told to attend the interview I was told to dress, as I would if I had a job at MAC.<br />
I was apprehensive at first thinking they maybe wanted me to do some work on the counter, as part of the interview, but they don't! ( Benefit does this, I also worked for them many moons ago! )<br />
<br />
<b>So it goes withour saying, MAKE AN EFFORT. Wear your BEST black clothes. MAC is not Bobbi Brown and Bobbi Brown is not MAC. Both companies portray a certain image. I didn't attend my MAC interview wearing a suit. I wore an embellished black dress, leggings and boots. Makeup was strong, nails painted and hair done.</b><br />
<b>You need to stand out, look the part. This is part of the interview.</b><br />
<br />
You will be asked about the brand again, Makeup trends, how you would deal with customer situations, the usual. The interview was long, and intense. You will be expected to know about the Makeup trends, Makeup of the season, colours that are now in - again they are almost probing you to ensure you follow Makeup and have a genuine passion for it. <br />
<br />
<b>If you pass this stage, you are then invited to a Makeup test.</b><br />
This is the final stage. This can vary, depending on who takes your test.<br />
It is normally done in store, so you will on the counter while everyone is working, a normal day. You are sometimes asked to provide a model, or they get a MAC girl to be your model. You are normaly assessed by a regional trainer for this.<br />
What you are asked to do will vary.<br />
I was asked to do an everyday Makeup look, and then transform it into an evening look. During this time you need to speak to the model as though she is a customer. You have to talk about the products you are using, and why you are using them.<br />
You will be expected to know the products. Don't use the excuse,<br />
'Well I don't work for you yet, so I don't know the products.'<br />
If you want the job, you should have looked into the products.<br />
Make sure you TALK. Do not do the makeup in silence, you have to be seen to be interacting with the 'customer'<br />
You will have the regional trainer, also asking you makeup related questions whilst you are doing this. <br />
<br />
<b>Do not panic about the makeup you have done, not being perfect. Obviously, it need's to look decent! But they are determining that you comfortable applying makeup, that you can communicate effectively with your customer and can also get it done in the set time.</b><br />
<br />
<b>They are assessing your makeup skills, communication skllls, time management, all of it.</b><br />
<br />
Once done - the regional trainer will ask you a few questions and assess the makeup you have applied.<br />
I then found out within a few months if I had the job, which i did!<br />
IF you are applying for a job for MAC, within a department store it doesn't end there. You will then be asked to do a Store approval interview. This is where the store determine if you are suitable to work in their store. Not half as stressfull as what you have had to already do to get this far. Nothing to worry about. <br />
<br />
Alot of people look at these jobs and assume it's an easy job, with a similar, easy process to apply for it. It's not. The process is long and intense, and is designed to find the best staff. The job is also just as demanding. If you want a job in the makeup field, MAC is a great place to start. You have daily, hands on experience, and alot of the time working under time restrictions. It really helps prepare Makeup artists who eventually want to work for themselves or in the Fashion/Media Makeup scene.<br />

I'm a self-confessed Social, media fiend. I'm obsessed. I'm constantly checking my Instagram, Emails etc etc. What did we do before mobile phones? Seriously? I couldn't do my job, successfully without mine.<br />
<br />
The one dowfall from constantly surfing the net, and working from home, is I can't resist, as the temptation is too great, TO NOT BUY MAKEUP.<br />
<br />
I am a full time, Makeup artist. So yes, it's part of my job. But some days, I do find myself wondering, do I need yet, another nude, eyeshadow palette?<br />
<br />
So once again I succumb to the Makeup buying devil on my shoulder, and bought more stuff for my kit.<br />
In my defence, this was stuff I actually needed, and in that I found consolation as my poor bank balance dwindled, even more.<br />
I had heard alot about Freedom Makeup, and had seen they were offering 3 for 2 on all products. I knew I needed some Brush cleansing spray, and I had run out of my Anastasia Beverley Hills, Dipbrow but was reluctant to spend another £15 to replace it.<br />
<br />
So out came my debit card ( no moths in my wallet ) and I purchased their Brush bath, Brush shower and their own version of Brow Pomade in Dark Brown.<br />
<br />
<br />

<br />
<b>Pro Studio - Brush shower - £5.00</b><br />
In LOVE!<br />
I cannot, tell you guys and gals just HOW much I love this stuff. I have a hectic work life. I work on Photoshoots, Film sets, and with huge Bridal parties. Yes, I have alot of brushes, but all MUA's will sympathise, sometimes you don't have enough and you need something you can use quickly and efficiently to clean, and more importantly, sanitise your brushes to use again asap. I can't be carrying around 10 Blusher brushes, 10 Foundation brushes etc etc.<br />
Just spritz the fab stuff, onto your brush 3-4 times and wipe onto a clean tissue. Done! It doesn't saturate or leave any residue, so brushes can be used straight away! <br />
I have finally found a brush spray that work's. It's not greasy, leaves no nasty residue on your brushes, and (yes there's more) smells amazing? How does it smell so good? Freedom makeup? TELL ME!<br />
<br />
This is now a permanent addition to my kit. <br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
<b>Pro Studio - Brush Bath - £7.00</b><br />
I was working away a few weeks ago, and this would have been a life saver. It's a round 'block' of solid, brush cleaner. Gone are the days of swishing the cleanser in you hands, and using baby shampoo.<br />
<b>'Wet brush, swirl around in jar until it lathers. Work brush in palm of hand to clean. Rinse well. Sqeeze off excess, leave to dry.'</b><br />
The only downside with this, was it was advertised as an 'on the go solution to cleaning brushes' my small mind assumed it was a quick swirl, clean and done. 'On the go', I now see, means you can take it with you, pack it away and use where you are.<br />
You will need to source some water, so if you were on a job, you would need to take a spray bottle, already filled. You wouldn't be able to use your brushes after, as they would be saturated. This little beauty is perfect for the dreaded, deep cleansing brush days. Worst than leg day at the gym.<br />
<br />

<br />
<b>EyeBrow pomade - Dark Brown- £5.00</b><br />
So happy to have found this. I wanted to try it before purchasing any others. They have a fab range of colours, and it's an exact dupe of Anastasia Beverley Hills, at a quarter of the price. £5.00 is a bargain for this.<br />
It's light, creamy and glides onto the brow - Another product I am so glad to have found and will be using it on set next week!<br />
They also have some new skincare launched, I also want to try. Dear God, help me. <br />
<br />
Im so impressed with this range! I would love to try the brow powders they stock. Have you tried their products? What would you recommend?<br />

<br />
A few weeks ago, the lovely people at, <a href="http://www.cosmicbeautyuk.com/" target="_blank">Cosmic Beauty</a> contacted me and within a few days a lovely face mask popped through my letter box.<br />
I love face masks. I love the fact I use face masks, with the sole intent of it being a good 15 minutes of relaxation time. Face masks equal, time to myself.<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The Aloe Vera and Vitamin E Mask was part of my weekly facial, ritual.</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
The mask I was sent was the Aloe Vera and Vitamin E, sheet mask. Unlike other masks that you spread across the face, these are directly placed onto the face, something I have never tried before.<br />
Great idea, if you really don't have the time to allocate for some serious pampering.<br />
Pop it on, and carry on with house work if need be! I watched a re-run of the Great British Bake Off, with a cuppa wearing mine......<br />
<br />
A few recommendations if you decide to purchase one or two of these masks. <br />
The mask is SATURATED with skin care, goodness. When you take it out of the packaging, be careful as it can drip everywhere. Best applied in the bathroom, over the sink, even if you have no intention of staying in there with it on. I have a vision of housewives all over the UK, doing the hoovering in these masks. Just remember to take it off before the school run.........<br />
<br />
I was worried that it would drip down my neck, so wore a lower cut t-shirt, but had no problems. Any excess from the mask I just rubbed into my neck! It didn't drip at all, but I found myself using any excess and rubbing it down my neck, regardless. Very satisfying.<br />
<br />
<b>Tip - once you have finished, squeeze the excess liquid into your hands and rub it over your skin. Why not? Waste not, want not! </b><br />
<br />
The instructions state that you do not need to wash off the excess, and they are right.<br />
I'm always, slightly dubious about cleansers or masks that you just wipe on, and that's it. I like my face to feel clean, so much prefer a cleaser or mask you wash off.<br />
Once you remove the mask, your face will feel relaxed and hydrated, and the excess product just absorbs into the skin within a few minutes! No sticky residue is left, so you are left to carry on with your every day chores, if need be!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3xCsY_NonDm-w1OrbUFpc_KiVU-TmZ0NdzG3Qcf9-iogs_kecUQpm2xKgJ_sjXtunY8N7wFnJNanJ-iCmTRixbqFamm2aYp-TTQAIlBI59IUj7OE93gOqzroo3dGKiEPi4v-WnXhGzmqy/s1600/VERA+MASK2blog2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="478" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3xCsY_NonDm-w1OrbUFpc_KiVU-TmZ0NdzG3Qcf9-iogs_kecUQpm2xKgJ_sjXtunY8N7wFnJNanJ-iCmTRixbqFamm2aYp-TTQAIlBI59IUj7OE93gOqzroo3dGKiEPi4v-WnXhGzmqy/s640/VERA+MASK2blog2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
My skin was left looking fresh and revitalised! I might just to have to buy myself a few more!<br />
<br />
The price of the masks from Cosmic Beauty are a bargain. Prices range from only £1.50 to around £3.00, and postage is free within the UK. You can't get any better than that!<br />
They provide masks for acne prone skin, masks to help tighten pores, they even have eye masks that I am dying to try!<br />
<br />
Pop over to their website and pop a few in you basket. You won't find them cheaper on the high street and with free postage, you have no excuse!<br />

Whether it be your perfect red lippie or that foundation you can't now live without.<br />
<br />
Being a professional Makeup artist and working on hundreds of faces a year - It may be a brides special day or a celebrity on a photoshoot so having the very best products in your kit that this growing beauty industry has to offer, is imperitive.<br />
<br />
I've narrowed down my kit, to products I absolutely love. Products that have taken me alot of time, testing and money to find, but all, very much worth it.<br />
<br />
Finding a product so great, deserves recognition, and finally after years of trying and testing ( some of the most expensive, and sought after face creams ) I have found my perfect mosituriser.<br />
<br />
All hail. Embryolisse Creme Concentrate.<br />

<br />
<br />
Yes, you may have seen this in your latest glossy magazine, and maybe you have seen it on the latest Makeup artists, post on Instagram. Maybe you think, it's just hype? Yes, it's a hype, but an honest one....<br />
<br />
In my job, alot of the time I dont get to meet the client(s) before hand. I never know the kind of skin I may face. Dry, dehydrated, oily, it's anyones guess. I dont have the time, space or arm/back capabilites to carry around a whole case of skin care, so what I do carry needs to be pretty special.<br />
<br />
This cream is a miracle worker. It somehow works on any skin type. Dry skin and dry patches, 'dissolve', combination skin looks fresh, and dehydrated skin looks plump.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The texture of the cream is not oily, but leaves a lovely 'feel' to the skin and a fabulous, fresh glow. Clients always comment once it's been applied on how great their skin looks and feels.<br />
<br />
<b>Containing:</b><br />
<b>Shea Butter to hydrate and smooth.</b><br />
<b>Beeswax, which helps protect, seal in moisture and soothe the skin.</b><br />
<b>Aloe Vera, renowned for its healing and anti - inflammatory properties.</b><br />
<br />
Throw away your primers, ( I did a long time ago ) as this seems to do that aswell. This gorgeous cream instantly prepares skin for makeup application, making foundations and concealers glide on effortessly and like a dream.<br />
<br />
This handy tube contains 75ml for only £20.00 on <a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/brands/embryolisse.list?&affil=thgppc&kwds=43700007422541085&gclid=CNHT5e3fisgCFYkBwwodiQwF2A&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=CJyt8O3fisgCFYGf2wodTz8LbA" target="_blank">Look fantastic</a>. (Pricing correct as 7/1/2017) That's a bargain, as you only need the smallest amount.<br />
<br />
They also have a smaller tube 30ml, £13.00 ( buy the larger one ... )<br />

Have you tried this? If not, you need to! I'm dying to try more of their range!<br />

<span class="splitter"></span>
EX1 Cosmetics is a multi-award winning line of cosmetics founded
by British Asian Farah Naz. She turned a personal frustration at her
limited choice of high street cosmetics into a single-minded passion to
create the make up range of her dreams. Calling on her background as a
biochemist Farah dedicated herself to developing a line of cosmetics
that perfectly suited skin tones like her own. <br />
<br />
Farah's
philosophy was simple: to design the highest quality collection of
products for olive-skinned women, using only the best in cosmetic
technology. <br />
<br />
Developed in Milan Italy, EX1 Cosmetics have been
formulated by world leading cosmetic scientists working in collaboration
with top European universities. With two years dedicated to research
and development, Farah has created a line of cosmetics that not only
caters for the skin tones for Olive complexions, but also takes into
account the differing biophysical characteristics of this skin type'<br />

<br />
With such a varied client base of my own, I am always on the look out for new products that will be perfect for women of different skin tones.<br />
I had seen EX1 Invisiwear Foundation on a few websites, but was reluctant to buy them before getting the chance to try them.<br />
<br />
It was on a job with another Makeup artist, that I was offered the opportunity to have a little play with them as she had the full range in her kit, and I'm really glad that I did!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBdxlKZKacyzT_FZqL8odntAmc7_lf92QPWxQFXZxu48m_sF__RJwjLlw6SJRHQX028MLymFERl8qgKlL2Vvw3_BY49rPDr0Vugph75F8XHgEi-gkQzweE89vJNtIhqNPAEKHkVqjlxGYR/s1600/invis.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBdxlKZKacyzT_FZqL8odntAmc7_lf92QPWxQFXZxu48m_sF__RJwjLlw6SJRHQX028MLymFERl8qgKlL2Vvw3_BY49rPDr0Vugph75F8XHgEi-gkQzweE89vJNtIhqNPAEKHkVqjlxGYR/s640/invis.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Aside from MAC, there aren't many foundations out there that TRULY match warmer/olive skin tones. They may match in colour, but undertones can give the skin a pink or sallow finish which is incredibly frustrating. To me there is nothing more sad, than a beautifully made up face, with an incorrect foundation shade to finish it off!<br />
Finally, a foundation that glides on olive/golden skins, like a second skin.<br />
<br />
This foundation is a real find. It's a perfect foundation for those of you who prefer a more natural finish. It gives a gorgous glow and looks fabulous on camera.<br />
I would say the foundation gives a light to medium coverage, with a luminous finish. If you prefer a more fuller coverage buff a little concealer on top.<br />
<br />
I use this on alot of my clientelle with olive/golden skins and they
love how it looks and feels. I tend to buff a little concealer on top if
they have blemishes and then pop a setting powder on top to set it and
boost longevity.<br />
<br />
Another great thing about these foundations? Great quality, minus the hefty price tag.<br />
Only £12.00 each? I mean seriously, the more established brands out there need to watch their backs with new prouducts like this on the market.<br />
<br />
Packaged in a lovely 'Rose gold' finish - they even look great carrying them around in your kit.<br />
<br />
If you're still not convinced, the awards won for this fabulous foundation and makeup brand may sway you....<br />

This particular foundation comes in 5 shades:<br />
F100 - for you fairer beauties<br />
F200 and F300 both being around one shade darker than each other.<br />
F400<br />
F500 having a much richer almost 'milk chocolate' colour. If you are using this for your makeup kit and are looking at trying a few before buying the full range, I invested in the lightest shade, F300 and F500 - and mixed them to get a clients perfect colour before investing in all 5!<br />
<br />
With just a one application of this foundation your skin will glow with radiance and health!<br />
Have you tried it? This fabulous makeup range also has pressed powders and concealers I am dying to get my hands on!<br />
<br />
I purchased mine from <a href="http://www.lookfantastic.com/home.dept?affil=thgppc?&kwds=43700005671605213&gclid=CISco7j0lscCFWoJwwodlUsFiw&gclsrc=aw.ds&dclid=COigrbj0lscCFZTgGwodZ5MOSg" target="_blank">Look Fantastic</a> at only £12.00 a bottle.<br />

<br />
Eyebrow tutorials are forever arising on different platforms, with a host of new makeup products to choose as your makeup medium.<br />
<br />
Unless you have been living on another planet, any avid follower of beauty will have heard of Anastasia Beverly Hills. Renowned as the 'eyebrow queen' to celebrities and clients alike.<br />
This lady styles top celebrities eyebrows such as the Kardashians and top models, to name but a few.<br />
<br />
Several years back she launched her first eyebrow, makeup range - including brow pencils and stencils.<br />
<br />
Back in 2014 I purchased her new eyebrow makeup, which was a worldwide success - Dipbrow Pomade.<br />
I had got to the point where I was using MACs, Dipdown eyeliner through my brows, to give a nice strong colour and sharpness ( not to be mistaken with sharpie.... )<br />
<br />
Anastasia's Dipbrows were plastered all over every social media site with photographs of perfect brows filling my social media feed, so naturally I had to give them a go.<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_QZqsau8FfpC0CiotsmT1eF0bNhu_QYmLz4bURH5TgOF7Eh-HojUnTkKm134GyywWS1GbPfiSlJjacAdot1mjqX6D5D6W1aLkT-cYQmdtt-3K9A6IYK2_mwgoKPOfCEj2PAHzLHbH5HWG/s1600/anast2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_QZqsau8FfpC0CiotsmT1eF0bNhu_QYmLz4bURH5TgOF7Eh-HojUnTkKm134GyywWS1GbPfiSlJjacAdot1mjqX6D5D6W1aLkT-cYQmdtt-3K9A6IYK2_mwgoKPOfCEj2PAHzLHbH5HWG/s640/anast2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I purchased the colours Blonde, Chocolate and Dark Brown. I know that just recently the colours for this successful makeup line, have expanded. New, lighter browns have been added which would be perfect if Blonde was too light and Chocolate/Dark brown, too dark.<br />
<br />
I found that most people who purchase these, feel it takes them a while to master an application technique they feel comfortable with. It does take a little practise and also several attempts to determine, how much you actually NEED to apply at one time.<br />
The texture of the product is very similar to a cream eyeliner, which helps it glide on perfectly, and the pigment being rich enough to ensure you do not need to go over one area, more than once. <br />
<br />
I personally found that less is more with this product. You really only need a small amount for maximum effect. I also like to use a disposable mascara wand to brush through the brow after application, to remove any excess product.<br />
<br />

<br />
<b>Blonde - A great colour for very fairer blonde, grey hair. I have a few mature clients, who now have this in their makeup kit. It's a soft colour, and is virtually undetectable once applied. Very natural.</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>Chocolate - My personal favourite. I have dark brown hair and this is perfect for me.</b><br />
<b><br /></b>
<b>Dark brown - Not too dissimilar to Chocolate - I sometimes switch between the two.</b><br />
<br />
<br />
It's a perfect product if you want to strengthen the shape of your brow, add definition while you are growing them out or even add more depth to the natural colour of your brow.<br />
<br />
I use an angle brush to apply, and find that once it dries - it stays put all day.<br />
<br />
A perfect product for the brows, once you have mastered how to apply it! Also great value for money. I find eyebrow pencils, with daily use need replacing alot sooner than these do.<br />
<br />
<br />
I purchased mine from Cult beauty at £15.00 for one.<br />

<br />
I can spend, literally hours scouting department stores and the internet on the hunt for new makeup to fill my bridal, makeup kit.<br />
One product I found to be a lifesaver for bridal makeup, is Vichy - Dermablend Setting powder.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvdZoPe2YaM7s5yOASCDPXg3EI4hNa5RjK1lyRuJDt5jyCEG09E9EBMb-vvvxnYx44CGtMWGs095V_JL2JlGeiWlq1GZTXXyCu5Ky3DhlEj4oy83FwJwa3757glb0z6VT1jQBZWllAw5IJ/s1600/vichy2+po.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvdZoPe2YaM7s5yOASCDPXg3EI4hNa5RjK1lyRuJDt5jyCEG09E9EBMb-vvvxnYx44CGtMWGs095V_JL2JlGeiWlq1GZTXXyCu5Ky3DhlEj4oy83FwJwa3757glb0z6VT1jQBZWllAw5IJ/s400/vichy2+po.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
A good 25 mins can be spent hydrating, priming, blending and perfecting the desired, Bridal base makeup. But if all this work is going to slide off in August temperatures, ( well, maybe not in England ) and the hustle and bustle of busy wedding morning preperations - what's the point?<br />
<br />
I have been using this product on my brides for the past two years, and they love it!<br />
It's a finely milled powder, with a translucent finish. I use the powder puff included, to 'press' the powder onto the skin, using a soft powder brush to brush away excess.<br />
The skin is left velvety matte with a lovely High-Definition finish. It diminishes shine and helps to disguise large pores.<br />
<br />
It's a fabulous product for helping to keep makeup, intact. For excessively oily skin, I do find it hard to find a product that will keep faces, shine-free pretty much all day.<br />
<br />
<br />
I use this powder to set various foundations, or to get rid of unwanted shine. <br />
<br />
As with all translucent powders, I still find they work best on fairer skins - although I did use this on a bride the weekend who was around a NC35 in MAC foundation. I applied using only a large powder brush, ommiting the powder puff usage and it didn't alter the colour of the foundation or give her skin an ashey tone.<br />

<span style="font-size: x-large;">'Don't be labelled just because of your skin concern'</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<b>Acne. Once you have experienced it, you know how it feels to suffer with it. In a world where so much relies on, and so much emphasis is placed on image, being an acne suffer can make you feel like an outsider.</b><br />
<br />
From the age of 13 onwards - I had acne.<br />
13 - 16 my skin erupted and all during my secondary school years I endured the teasing from class 'mates'.<br />
From the age of 18-20 I then experienced ' adult acne' which re-surfaced on my cheeks in painful, unsightly red sores.<br />
The stress, bullying and torment of these years left me mentally and emotionally scarred.<br />
<br />
I still get spots and blemishes now regardless of what I use on my skin and what I eat. Thankfully, my skin has never reverted back to the way it was during my teens and early 20s. I have accepted the fact I have acne prone skin, and this alone has slowly helped build my confidence.<br />
<br />
Looking back, I think my experiences with acne lead me towards and into the makeup field. I loved how makeup could transform you, not only physically but also emotionally. It's no suprise that I now work as a full-time, freelance makeup artist.<br />
With the knowledge I now have, I can disguise unexpected breakouts leaving me confident and ready to face the world, instead of hiding behind closed doors. <br />
<br />
Always on the search for that 'perfect' base makeup I have tried, God only knows how many foundations. I went through the phase of using MAC studio fix ( too drying ) MAC studio sculpt ( too oily ) and Estee Lauder double wear ( too heavy AND too drying )<br />
You name it - I've tried it.<br />
<br />
I wanted a foundation that didn't look heavy on the skin, but also gave great coverage. I also wanted a foundation that didn't budge on my oily skin, but also didn't start to look shiny and get patchy after a few hours. Yes, I also began to think I was searching for the impossible.<br />
<br />
Finally - after searching, for what feels like an eternity I have found my miracle product.<br />
Introducing Vichy, Fluid Corrective Foundation 16hr.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">The foundations come in this 'tube like' packaging, with a screw lid. It helps save on usage, as you can just squeeze out the amount you need. This 'God send' also has a SPF of 35</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<br />
I dread to think how many foundations I have tried and the thousands I must have spent. It just doesn't bear thinking about!<br />
With my job, I can be up at 4am, and back home at 7pm. It's imperitive that I have a foundation that is longlasting but also gives great coverage. <br />
<br />
This foundation is creamy, gliding onto the skin and drying beautifully. It doesn't oxidise ( get darker throughout the day ) and it looks exactly the same when I get home from a job, as it did when I applied it that morning. I set the foundation with their setting powder, which also helps to prolong it's hold, giving a lovely matte finish. <br />
<br />
I used this foundation on a client,only the other day. This lady had rosacea and thread veins. Like many ladies who suffer from this, she did not want a foundation that was going to look heavy on the skin, but also didn't want a foundation that was too 'high' maintenance. Ie - need's touching up every hour or so. This foundation gave a lovely coverage without looking caked on. Just beautiful.<br />
<br />
Vichy do 5 colours in this range<br />
Opal - being the lightest<br />
Nude<br />
Sand<br />
Gold<br />
Bronze<br />
<br />
The ONLY downside to this product is the colour range. I really hope as this brand becomes more popular they expand the range of shades.<br />
Opal - being the lightest shade, is still a little too dark for me. I do need to blend it down the neck to ensure I dont get the dreaded 'tide' mark.<br />
<br />
This foundation has been a god-send for me this summer. No more worrying that my makeup is sliding off whilst I'm working, or that my spots/blemishes are visible to clients.<br />
I will be doing a seperate post for their Dermablend, setting powder, as I feel it needs a review all of it's own!<br />
<br />
Vichy can be purchased online, but if you want to test the colours out first, large branches of Boots sell it. This particular foundation cost me £18.00 from Boots, but is currently on offer at £13.50. (23/07/2015 )<br />
Worth every penny. <br />
Vichy do other products for base makeup, including concealers and a cream foundation. I would love to try the concealers on myself and clients.<br />
Have you tried any of the Vichy range?<br />

LipGlam.<br />
Not a name I had heard in the beauty world, until a few weeks ago.<br />
<br />
During one of my Admin days, which are better spent nosying through Facebook/Twitter/Instagram, I discovered these guys.<br />
<br />
I think everyone on planet earth has heard of Elizabeth Ardens, Eight hour cream.<br />
I myself have used if for years, and swear by it - but have I stumbled across a product just like it, or better?<br />
<br />
LipGlam retails at £9.99 for a 12ml tube.<br />
It's a handy size so can be popped in your handbag or like me, next to my office computer alongside my makeup brushes.<br />
<br />
It's advertised as a<b> 100% natural lip balm</b> that lasts up to 8 hours - but just like
Ardens 8 hour cream, it is a multi-purpose product, and who doesn't love
a multi-purpose beauty product?<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV0DD-mQMQqSAqUt5casMhSvF-UZun1iVcHwKMuhZhn8bkxmIZylYs6hLXKLJrR8u7Jlxa2zbvGcC6dON-BLp6u23QSRG1BMLBLNfQo9T2PB7grbOYnJ6xq4N5fXQg5QqjBtALDrDKQkkO/s1600/lipbalm1blog.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjV0DD-mQMQqSAqUt5casMhSvF-UZun1iVcHwKMuhZhn8bkxmIZylYs6hLXKLJrR8u7Jlxa2zbvGcC6dON-BLp6u23QSRG1BMLBLNfQo9T2PB7grbOYnJ6xq4N5fXQg5QqjBtALDrDKQkkO/s1600/lipbalm1blog.jpg" width="454" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
It can be used as a:<br />
Lip Balm<br />
Cuticle ointment<br />
To smooth split ends ( yes, really )<br />
Eyebrow balm<br />
For dry skin relief<br />
<br />
<b>Hypoallergenic and 100% fragrance/colour free/paraben free</b><br />
<br />
If you already use Ardens 8 hour cream, you will know it has quite an
oily consistency once blended onto the skin area, but it also has a
distinct smell.<br />
<br />
The texture of LipGlam is quite dense but non-greasy which I like, but it has no fragrance.<br />
<br />
I had very dehydrated lips after a bout of illness, and this stuff worked wonders after just a few hours.<br />
<br />
I'm impressed - I love how such a compact, beauty product can have so
many uses. I've started to use this before applying Lipliner/Lipstick.<br />
Lipliner glides on and does not 'drag' and lipstick is left with a delicate, sheer sheen.<br />
<br />
One tip with this product. If like me you live in the UK, which is renowned for its unpredictable weather - this product does not like the cold. <br />
This may be due to the product containing Lanolin - I'm not sure, but like other lip balms it will solidify in the tube.<br />
Not too bad if you are home, just run it under a hot tap but if you are out - this may prove a little more difficult!<br />
<br />
Regardless, I've popped this in my Makeup kit and only product's I deem worthy have a place there.<br />

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Certain foundations can look great to the naked eye, but in photographs can look lifeless, grey and washed out.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Any makeup product with a high SPF and even talcs will interfere with
flash photography, but not only flash photgraphy, just photographs in
general.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Flash photography - Wear an SPF? The flash will reflect, leaving you looking as white as a ghost.</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The LA Girl concealers are HD - High Definition. If you see makeup that
specifies this, you can be sure it will look great in photos.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
HD makeup is not just reserved for foundations now, but concealers, blushers and powders are also popping up from different makeup companies - claiming the all important 'HD' stamp.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u><br /></u>
<u>Why are the LA Girl concealers so popular?</u></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Seveal reasons:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>They don't cost the earth</b> - and for this I LOVE LA Girl. I think
alot of people are finally cottoning on, that alot of bigger brands
really do mark their products up far too high, price wise. If you can get
a product just as good, at a quarter of the price - it's really, a no
brainer....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>They are compact and 'mess' free</b> - I love how versatile they are.
If you are a follower on Instagram - you will know how crazy people
went for these last year. They are used alot in contouring/highlighting
techniques.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
With the design of the packaging, its easy to pop it into your makeup bag for re-touch ups during the day. </div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>They are HD</b> - Look great in photographs.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Give great, customisable coverage with a creamy texture</b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>Great range of colours, on their website there are 18 colours advertised. </b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b>They have a 'brush' applicator</b> - which again is great for contouring. Just apply them directly to the skin.</div>
<br />
<br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7wX8Jc8tUrn6MgtgDWPU6wYeuNZ9R74FYd8HpSZuBsoCiqYxI6hRHeAv3dMUwiO1_zIZU9S9s8U2Jc-tbZRnlpJXF-YC5al4b0J5P-CEHG07oy5RmMEsfpNMlmZmfkggf2u3WWT2bFPda/s1600/lagirl4BLOG.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="490" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7wX8Jc8tUrn6MgtgDWPU6wYeuNZ9R74FYd8HpSZuBsoCiqYxI6hRHeAv3dMUwiO1_zIZU9S9s8U2Jc-tbZRnlpJXF-YC5al4b0J5P-CEHG07oy5RmMEsfpNMlmZmfkggf2u3WWT2bFPda/s1600/lagirl4BLOG.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
One downside for people outside US - are the shipping fees. You will
need to do your homework and search sites to find the best deal and
what you are prepared to pay.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I tracked a supplier down on Ebay - so didn't pay a fortune in shipping fees.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
All six of these concealers came to around £28.00 - with postage.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
As with ALL successful makeup companies/products you will get the odd
idiot selling / charging a fortune for them, so be careful - shop
around.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
LA Girl have other fab makeup products that I am dying to try - but annoyingly, I need to eat and pay bills.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Being a makeup artist is an expensive game................</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Have you tried any LA Girl products?</div>

<br />
This week, I have felt like a child at Christmas. I have had a few unexpected parcels land at my door, and W7 was one of them.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have a HUGE bundle of makeup from them that I will be working through, so I thought I'd start with these fabulous, eyeshadows palettes.</div>
<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
First glance, you would be mistaken into thinking they were the Urban Decay, eyeshadow palettes.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
They have the same 'tin' packaging - which I personally love, as they
are easy to clean! (What's with the cardboard packaging that is so
popular at the moment? It looks nice for a while, give it a few weeks in
my kit and it look's a tatty mess - let's all make these tins please... )</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
They are the same size, and once opened they have the same design, containing 12 eyeshadows, and a small applicator/brush.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>In the Nude </u></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The camera doesn't pick up the lovely shimmery highlights, but they are there!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
12 colours.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Natural Nudes</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
3 Matte colours in Cream/Light/Mid Browns. Great if you just want a matte eye makeup or to define your eye crease.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Alot of the colours in this palette I can see are similar to many MAC colours. Think of the colours:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Jest/Naked Lunch/Mulch/Satin Taupe/Woodwinked</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Altogether, a gorgeous palette.</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>In the Buff, Lightly Toasted </u></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Two Matte tones, in a colour similar to 'Brule' from MAC and a colour that looks a little like 'Cork' from MAC.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You have 7 frosted shades, which are of fabulous pigment. Colours similar to, 'Amber lights', 'All that glitters' by MAC.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Colours are very 'earthy' tones </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You also have two darker shades. One is a Black, with glitter running
through it and the other a Charcoal, again with glitter running through it.</div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3_4-ev0wU_ui_M2exYnnrgjNmp_6FA9Ez36WsMJGzuoRx-d2EVSMWzaLJDRnrsSG-NkrGFwowlqwwdiClyr-x8Ee7EkbhDfcgnpZv7bAvIBqWDcCl1m-KnWWaICDQHyfnqjyTeL89nZ_k/s1600/w7+smeokyblogAGAIN.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="435" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg3_4-ev0wU_ui_M2exYnnrgjNmp_6FA9Ez36WsMJGzuoRx-d2EVSMWzaLJDRnrsSG-NkrGFwowlqwwdiClyr-x8Ee7EkbhDfcgnpZv7bAvIBqWDcCl1m-KnWWaICDQHyfnqjyTeL89nZ_k/s1600/w7+smeokyblogAGAIN.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
<div style="text-align: center;">
<u>In the Night </u></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
One Matte colour in this one - In Black.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This palette has three neutral shades, think Peach/Champagne tones.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You have one deep Purple, alongside another light Purple.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
A gorgeous rustic Red, very much like 'Cranberry' from MAC, acompanied
by an AMAZING pink, with glitter running through it. This colour would
be great, 'patted' on top of a colour or straight onto the eyelid. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I know alot of the brushes you get included with eyeshadow palettes are
usually pretty naff - but I would use the finer end of these brushes.
It's really great at running under the eyes to add colour and definition
- as for the sponge applicator tip - I still wish companies wouldn't
bother. It CAN be used to PAT eyeshadow on with, but apart from that -
there's really no point.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now - as for the eyeshadows themselves, how do they compare to other higher end, or higher priced </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
or a SINGLE eyeshadow it's great.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I have A LOT of what would be classed as 'cheaper' makeup in my kit, not
because it's cheap - but because I use it, rate it and it does the job.
That's it.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These shadows are of high quality. They are rich in pigment, not full of talc, giving a wishy washy application of colour.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The colours are rich, and they blend well. I would recommend popping an eye primer on first, to give the best colour pay off.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
If you are after an eyeshadow palette, but cannot afford £35 upwards for
one invest in one of these . You will not be disappointed.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These cost a mere £9.99 each</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
W7 also do another palette called, 'In the Buff' - Which seems to be
filled with very natural, earthy tones - with a mix of frost and mattes.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Take a look at their website here</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
What do you think? Have you tried these? If so which palette?</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Stay tuned to me on Instagram - where I will be posting some new makeup looks using these.</div>
